Cambodia Casinos
There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den betting is banned. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently needed to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of most borders.
The 1st Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of conveniences aside from the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 tables.
